Shopify app development and API integration

Custom apps for the parts of your operation Shopify does not cover. Built against the real Admin and Storefront APIs, and installed on your store.

What we build

The work usually starts where an off-the-shelf app stops: a rule it cannot express, a dataset it cannot reach, or a handoff a person is still doing manually.

Private apps

Internal tooling that lives inside Shopify: custom admin pages, bulk actions, and guided screens where staff supply details a fixed setting cannot.

Admin and Storefront API integration

GraphQL queries and mutations, metafields and metaobjects, and bulk operations designed to stay inside rate limits on large catalogs.

Shopify Functions and extensions

Discount, cart transform, and checkout validation logic written as server-side functions, plus UI extensions for checkout, customer accounts, and the admin.

Sync and migration

Backfills, ERP, 3PL, and WMS connections, and one-time data migrations with reconciliation, so you can prove the numbers match.

How a project runs

Three phases, each ending with something you can inspect rather than something you have to take on faith.

Step 1

Scope

We map the workflow, the data, and every system involved. You get a written definition of what the app does and, just as important, what it does not do.

Step 2

Build

Development happens against a real Shopify store with staged test data. You review working software in a preview environment, not status reports.

Step 3

Hand off

Documentation, a migration path for existing data, and a clear boundary between what we maintain and what your team owns.

Custom app, Mechanic task, or nothing at all

A custom app is not always the right answer. If an existing app covers eighty percent of the requirement, the honest recommendation may be to keep it.

Keep the existing app

When the gap is small, or when the app is already wired into your operations in ways a replacement would break.

A Mechanic task

When the requirement is event-driven or scheduled and fits in a task script, which covers more ground than most merchants expect. Fast to ship, nothing to host.

A custom app

When you need admin UI, checkout or customer account surfaces, or a person in the loop on every run.
